March 23, 2020
As you know by order of Archbishop Rodi, all public Masses have been suspended through Sunday, April 5th. This is a very painful situation for all of us. We are working on acquiring the equipment and technology to broadcast our Mass online. Our church will remain open for private prayer daily from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. – You are asked to maintain the recommended six foot distance from others.
In the meantime, Mass will be live streamed at St. Thomas by the Sea and
recorded Mass with Fr. Zoghby can be viewed at the St. Margaret of Scotland website.
We will have blessed palms available on Palm Sunday weekend. They will be in containers at the front doors of the church. You may pick them up any time after 12 noon until 5 pm on Saturday, April 4th and any time after 11 am until 6 pm on Sunday, April 5th.
The work of our parish will continue with your support. We must continue to pay salaries, pay utility bills and maintain parish facilities and property. Please do not stop contributing to our parish. You may mail your contributions (308 East 22nd Avenue, Gulf Shores, AL 36542) drop them off at the parish office (308 East 22nd Avenue), contribute online, or use the ACH or credit card options.
I am sending out this message by email, posting it on the parish website, and on our parish Facebook page. If you know of parishioners who do not use email or Facebook or have access to the parish website, please share this message with them.
I have included a link to Archbishop Rodi’s message to the people of the Archdiocese of Mobile, and his message to the clergy at http://mobarch.org/coronavirus/; so that you may be familiar with what he expects of us. If you need to get in touch with me, call my cell phone: 251-648-4892.
These are trying times but with God’s grace and our mutual support, there are brighter times ahead of us.
Sincerely in Christ,
Father David Carucci
